tea bag kantha

This has just been a little project I've wanted to try for a while, I've been collecting used tea bags, hanging them on the clothes line to dry then opening them up (removing the used tea leaves of course)
I hope my neighbours are not thinking I'm such a tight wad that I am drying them out to reuse the tea.

I laid the open bags on a plain cotton backing and tacked them on - I finished up leaving the tacking thread in place, then went over the lot with a running stitch like a Kantha.

The next photo is very dark but I rather like the extra dimensions the shadows add.

It was nice just sitting watching TV and doing running stitches, but not sure if I would do much more like this with the tea bags, it was just an idea I needed to try.
It's about the size of an A4 sheet of paper, I like working with this size, it has an intimate feel.
