Reindeer Poo

I'm not sure if I've mentioned this before - but I REALLY don't like cooking, I don't enjoy whipping up little concoctions that will disappear in no time flat, so I'm not sure what came over me when I decided on christmas eve to COOK THINGS, it must have been the fact that son was bringing his girlfriend and her parents to spend Christmas day with us.

Not wanted to scare them away, I decided on a scene of domestic bliss instead of the usual ...strangeness.... I even took the vampire bat from the top of the christmas tree.

Anyways..amongst the pile of recipe clippings labelled "looks easy" were Chocolate Christmas Trees.
ingredients:
250g pkt plain sweet biscuits, crushed (I used Marie)
1 cup desiccated coconut
2 tablespoons baking cocoa
1 tablespoon honey (optional)
395g can sweetened condensed milk
1 cup of white or dark chocolate melts
coconut, or sprinkles for decoration
method:
combine all in large bowl, mix well, shape into cones, drizzle melted white chocolate and refrigerate until firm.

how hard can that be....

except I didn't have white chocolate so I drizzled dark chocolate...

which took away the snowy christmas tree look.....

and prompted the family to re-name them Reindeer Poo

I can see Reindeer Poo becoming regular holiday fare, as you can see from the plate, they went down well.

A traditional holiday confection requiring only the melting of chocolate and peanut butter as "cooking" before adding other ingredients like dry salted peanuts, mini marshmallows, etc., is known in our family as Festive Reindeer Droppings. Despite the name they are highly addictive!
